Business management training to 550 SME representatives in the pandemic period

Developed by TÜRKONFED (Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation) in partnership with Visa and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), I Can Manage My Business project’s trainings have evolved into a webinar series due to the COVID-19 pandemic conditions.

Throughout the online trainings, topics such as digital competence, access to finance, risk management, supply chain management, work plan during uncertain periods and sustainability as one of the most important subjects of the future, have been covered to support SMEs’ capacities to take advantage of the digital world. In the scope of the project, digitalization support will be provided for the SMEs that would like to transfer their businesses into digital.

During the first year of I Can Manage My Business project, around 1,000 SMEs in Adana, Antalya, Hatay, Balıkesir, Mardin and Istanbul have benefitted from the face-to-face trainings developed and implemented by Boğaziçi University Innovation Center to support their growth potential.

In the second year, the project aims to continue to access and empower SMEs by online trainings, improved with the current health and pandemic agenda. The curriculum has been updated to include practical information delivered by professionals of leading e-commerce platforms and infrastructure companies to support SMEs’ digitalization.

High Attendance from Big Cities

550 beneficiaries from all over Turkey have attended to I Can Manage My Business webinar series between April 29 and May 16, 2020 and 41% of the participants were women. The prominent sectors of the participants were commerce, service, construction, food and textile while most of the participants were from big cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Kütahya and Adana.
