Business for Goals Platform meets online!

Business for Goals Platform, established to increase the role of the private sector in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, continues its operations in a way open to the participation of all enterprises and stakeholders. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the platform moved its meet-ups to online platforms, on which three webinars were carried out during the previous weeks.

The webinar “Labor Law and Work Security in the Days of Corona” took place on the 16th of April and hosted Prof. Dr. Erdem Özdemir, professor of law at the Department of Labor and Social Security Law, Marmara University. Prof. Dr. Erdem Özdemir responded to questions on the effects of the coronavirus outbreak on labor law and companies’ work security policies. On the 21st of April, another webinar under the title “COVID-19: Analysis of the economic situation and Experience Sharing” took place to discuss the results of the “COVID-19: Business Impact and Need Assessment” Survey. The online meeting was organized in collaboration with TÜRKONFED, the founding institution of Business for Goals Platform. In the webinar, Esen Çağlar, managing partner at the Policy Analytics Lab analyzed the results of the survey, along with Orhan Turan, Chairman of the Board of TÜRKONFED and Şükrü Ünlütürk, vice president of Business for Goals Platform, who shared their opinions and experiences with the audience. A third webinar took place on the 30th of April and covered the topic of “The Future of Trade; Turkey's Perspective”. In this session, İlker Gürsoy, Head of Risk Underwriting at Euler Hermes and Evren Kılıç, International Trade Senior Manager at Ernst & Young Turkey explored the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the global economy and foreign trade and responded to questions from the audience.
