Before COVID-19 pandemic changed the global economy, 5 reports focusing on local economies in Southeastern Anatolia were prepared in the framework of Turkey Resilience Project in Response to Syria Crisis Job Creation Component in 2020.

The aim was to develop strategies for machinery&metal, food, textile and plastic sectors and manufacturing industry in general by assessing the actual state of these sectors and latest trends to be followed while analysing their labour absorption capacity with respect to the additional labour workforce originated after Syria Crisis.

The reports were prepared to guide the respective sectors to become more resilient against shocks, crises and disasters as we have been experiencing for  10 years and now we are trying to adapt to the “new normal” created by a global pandemic.

The reports were prepared with the contribution of sector representatives, governmental institutions, local development institutions, Chambers, etc. and the strategies proposed were verified with the interviews and workshops before the reports are finalized.

We believe that these reports are still valid as they were prepared with “resilience” perspective and hope you can benefit from them in understanding the potential and challenges of respective sectors while exploring new opportunities to create more and sustainable jobs based on sustainable growth.
