International Conference on Promotion of Transparency and Accountability for Strengtened Integrity Sytems
‘International Conference on Promotion of Transparency and Accountability for Strengtened Integrity Sytems’, during which the most recent information about national and global trends and efforts in the field of anti-corruption will be discussed, is going to be hosted by the Prime Ministry Inspection Board in partnership with UNDP Turkey in 5-6 December 2012 at the Sherton Hotel Ankara.
‘International Conference on Promotion of Transparency and Accountability for Strengtened Integrity Sytems’ is going to begin on 5 December 2012 at 10:00 at the Sheraton Hotel in Ankara, with the presence of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with participation of public officials working in the field of anti-corruption, integrity and transparency measures, representatives of private and public sector and civil society representatives, local authorities and international community.
The International Conference, will be held in order to facilitate dialogue and information sharing on the latest trends in the field of fight against corruption, integrity, transparency and accountability and to discuss international experience, best practices and lessons learned and will be organized in the context of ‘Project for Support to Effective Implementation of National Anti-Corruption Strategy in Turkey’ which is jointly implemented by Turkish Prime Ministry Inspection Board and UNDP Turkey since December 2010.
The referred conference will be hosting senior representatives of international anti-corruption institutions operating in various geographies of the world such as,Central Anti-Corruption Bureau for Development Policy of UNDP, United Nations Office n Drugs and Crime, Global Financial Integrity and International Anti-Corruption Academy as well as representatives from Anti-Corruption Commissions of Korea, Poland, Romania, Malaysia,Yemen, Botswana and Morocco.
The International Conference which will contribute to strategies developed and practices in the field of anti-corruption is considered as a significant opportunity in terms of enhancing co-operation and co-ordination among public, private sector and NGOs and awareness raising in the field of anti-corruption.In this context, the Confrence has been designed to discuss various topics in the field of anti-corruption in a total of six sessions. After the Opening and Keynote Speeches, during the following two days the Conference discussions will focus on the topics below:
- Presentation of the Progress on the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Strategy
- Efficiency of different anti-corruption systems and Alternative Modelling for Increased Efficiency
- Integration of accountability and anti-corruption initiatives in local governance strengthening
- Anti-Corruption in post-2015 agenda
- Openness and transparency in th financing of political parties and election campaigns
- Prevention of Illicit Financing from Developing Countries
