International Convention on Women’s Representation in Senior Management Positions of Private Sector and Public Institutions will be co-organized by United Nations Development Programme and Business Women Entrepreneurs and Enhancement Association (ANGİKAD), on 11-12 October 2012 in Ankara.  

Within the context of the Joint Program on Fostering and Enabling Environment for Gender Equality in Turkey, being implemented under the partnership of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Turkey, UN Women and Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) Equal Opportunities Commission for Man and Woman, the convention on Women’s Representation in Senior Management Positions of Private Sector and Public Institutions will be held on 11-12 October 2012, Swiss Hotel, Ankara with the corporation of ANGİKAD.

Women’s Representation in Senior Management Positions of Private Sector and Public Institutions will be held on 11-12 October 2012 at 09:00 in Swiss Hotel, Ankara with the participation of Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Şahin, Chairperson of TGNA Equal Opportunities Commission for Man and Woman, Azize Sibel Gönül, Member of Equal Opportunities Commission, ANGIKAD President Devrim Erol, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Matilda Dimovska, UNDP Democratic Governance Program Manager Dr Leyla Şen, Civil Society Organizations, Private and Public Sector Representatives and academicians.

The Convention will be organized within the context of the Joint Program on Fostering and Enabling Environment for Gender Equality in Turkey, being implemented under the partnership of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Turkey, UN Women and Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) Equal Opportunities Commission for Man and Woman.

The overall objective of the Convention, jointly organized by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Business Women Entrepreneurs and Enhancement Association (ANGİKAD) is to increase women’s presence in senior management positions of private sector and public institutions with the aim of contributing to the economic and social development process of Turkey, strengthening women’s representation in society and developing human resources.

The specific objective of the Convention is;

-To exchange information, experience and best practices on women’s representation in senior management positions of private sector and public institutions,
-To provide support for increasing women’s representation in senior management positions of private sector and public institutions, determine problems and challenges faced on the field and create means of solutions.     
Expected Participant Profile of the Convention
The Convention is expected to host high level representatives of the personnel departments of public, high level authorities of human resources departments of private sector and media
