Energy efficiency in industry will further Turkey’s efforts on combating climate change
kick-off meeting of the project entitled “Improving Energy Efficiency
in Industry in Turkey” will be held on 3 May 2011 in Ankara.
Ankara – The project aims to improve energy efficiency of the Turkish industry by enabling and encouraging companies in the industrial sector for efficient management of energy use by different energy conservation measures and energy efficient technologies.
While the project will further national efforts on energy efficiency, it will also contribute significantly to Turkey’s efforts to fight against climate change and will create awareness on energy efficiency among the public.
The Improving Energy Efficiency in Industry in Turkey project is implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Industrial Development Organizations (UNIDO), General Directorate of Electrical Power Resources Survey and Development Administration (EIE), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB), Technology Development Foundation of Turkey (TTGV) and Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) with the financial support of GEF.
Besides the representatives from UNDP, UNIDO, TTGV, TSE, KOSGEB and EİE, representatives of Governmental Bodies, NGOs, universities and industry are expected to participate to the kick-off meeting.
