UNDP and TESEV launches "Social and Economic Priorities for Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia" Report

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP and the ) Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) will present the Report entitled “Social and Economic Priorities for Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia” on 22 November 2006 at the Dedeman Hotel, Ankara at 9.30 -13.30.

The Report presents policy recommendations in economic, agricultural and social policy fields. These recommendations are directed at enhancing the human resources capacities of the region’s people.

The Report provides also statistical measures on public investments per capita, spending for incentives and cost implications of a successful social policy intervention that can respond to the rooted social problems in the region.

The report will be presented by the Report supervisor Dr. Orhan Kurmuş and its authors:

  • Prof. Halis Akder, The Role of Agricultural Policy in the Development Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia.
  • Prof. Ayşe Kudat, The Role of Investments in the Development of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia
  • Prof. Çağlar Keyder, The Role of Social Policy and Suggestions for the Development of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia.

 The report and its recommendations will also be discussed by representatives of various political parties, during the launch.
