"International Public-Private Partnerships Summit" on September 15-16, in Ankara
“International Public Private Partnership Summit” will take place on September 15-16, 2006 in Ankara.
The participants will share their legal, financial and technical expertise throughout the Summit, which aims to bring socially responsible establishments, domestic and foreign investors and financers together with public-private partnership projects.
Richness of expertise
At the Summit, development oriented collaboration experiences of private sector, governments and non-governmental organizations will be discussed in accordance with the Millenium Development Goals, which was initiated by the United Nations and signed by several countries including Turkey.
Besides representatives from the Turkish Government, representatives from international organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank and private sector will be attending the Summit.
Support from the Turkish Prime Ministry and International Organizations
The Summit has been organized by Corporate Social Responsibility Association (CSRA) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and UK Trade & Investment and has been supported by several ministries and government institutions of Turkey.
The Global Compact Members in Turkey will also attend
The Summit will also be attended by representatives from Turkish private sector establishments which have pleaded themselves to follow the 10 global principles by signing the Global Compact with the aim of establishing a common development culture and one of the areas of debate will be on the ethical values and the role of corporate social responsibility.
UN Secretary-General’s Special Advisor on the Global Compact, Prof. Klaus M. Leisinger, UN/Turkey Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative Mr. Mahmood Ayub, the World Bank Director of Turkey, Mr. Andrew Vorkink will be among the participants besides representatives from private sector establishments that have signed the Global Compact.
