    Global Initiative on Commodities on the agenda

    Croatian report on social exclusion

    The Croatian Human Development Report is about the social exclusion in Croatia. In the foreword of Unplugged: Faces of Social Exclusion in Croatia that was published in February 2007, Resident Representative of UNDP Croatia country office Yuri Afanasiev says that the report is the “first ever comprehensive analysis of social exclusion issues in Croatia” and underlines the importance of the word “unplugged” in the title of the report.

    Derviş responds to IPCC Report on climate change

    United Nations Development Programme Administrator Kemal Derviş expressed support for the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, calling on governments, donors and development agencies to better recognize the existing capacities of the people and communities of the developing world to adapt to meet the challenges of global warming, and to bolster support to those most vulnerable to its damaging immediate effects.

    Match Against Poverty

    On 19 March 2007, the world witnessed the fourth match against poverty in Marseille, France in which the teams of two All-Star captains and UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane faced each other in a friendly match organised by UNDP in order to raise money and awareness about poverty and to strengthen UN’s Millennium Development Goals.
