Plans on table for İzmir and Muğla

Management and Action Plans for Special Environmental Protection Areas were evaluated in Muğla and İzmir Local Working Group meetings in the context of the “Strengthening the System of Marine and Coastal Protected Areas of Turkey" project.
New Horizons - Two separate meetings were held under the context of Local Working Groups activities, which were established at each project site –Special Environmental Protection Areas (SEPAs)- in Muğla and İzmir for preparing and implementing management plans.
Representatives of governorships, district administrations, provincial directorates, municipalities, Coast Guard, harbor managements, universities, local NGOs, which are among the stakeholders of Gökova, Datça-Bozburun, Fethiye-Göcek ve Köyceğiz-Dalyan and Foça SEPAs as well as UNDP Turkey representatives participated in the meetings.
Dialogue and budget have specific importance
In the meetings, in which Management and Action Plans were evaluated, Presentations were made on MCPAs and the project.
Project experts also delivered information on the recent situation in SEPAs. Situation analysis was also made in the meetings and opinions were exchanged to develop and improve this situation.
