Private Sector’s role in development discussed in Geneva

The United Nations System Private Sector Focal Points, the UN Global Compact and the UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development meet in Geneva on at the end of April to discuss the role of businesses in addressing development challenges and making a transformational local impact.

New Horizons, May 2013 - The global meeting brings together experts from a large number of UN agencies and the World Bank as well as business representatives of Multinational Companies and of the Global Compact local network. 

Topics on the agenda include partnering with extractive industries for local growth, business-led skills development programs, engaging the private sector in preparedness and resilience building and country-level approaches to implementing global initiatives.
