Trainers’ Toolkit on Climate Change Workshop has been held on 6 January, 2017 in Gülen Muharrem Pakoğlu Secondary School in AnkaraFeb 6, 2017
Trainers’ Toolkit on Climate Change developed in the context of the Joint Programme on Enhancing the Capacity of Turkey to Adapt to Climate Change, under the coordination of Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, has been updated as part of “Support for the Preparation of the Turkey's Biennial Report (FBR) to UNFCCC Project”. The Trainers’ Toolkit Introduction Event has been held on 6 January, 2017 Friday at 9.00 -13.00 in Gülen Muharrem Pakoğlu Secondary School.
33 participants, including Information Technologies, Preschool, Turkish, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology and Design, Visual Arts Teachers, Counselors, School Principal and Vice-Principal, demonstrated interest in the event. Besides, representatives from Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Yıldırım Beyazıt University and United Nations Development Programme have also participated to the event.
The event has started with opening and meeting session, and continued with defining climate change, its impacts and solution seeking discussions. Following the presentation on the Trainers’ Toolkit on Climate Change, group works and presentations have been held and the event has been closed by planning school-wide activities.
The event which hosted the presentation of A Map Showing the Impacts of Climate Change on People and Environment in the World, a Poster Showing Suggestions on Reducing Carbon Footprints and Climate Change Game Cards, in addition to the Trainers’ Toolkit on Climate Change; is believed to raise awareness of teachers directly and students indirectly.
