Final Report for Socio-economic analysis of Marine Capture Fisheries in the Datça-Bozburun Peninsula

Summary

The field study was carried out in the Datça-Bozburun Peninsula from 13 November 2010 to 27 July 2011. During the study, Datça, Karaköy, Cumalı (Palamutbükü), Knidos, Hayıtbükü, Selimiye, Hisarönü, Orhaniye, Bozburun and Söğüt-Taşlıca fishery ports were visited. Furthermore, three fishery cooperatives located in Datça Peninsula were reviewed. Since the primary information and data on socio-economics of fi sheries were not collected on a regular basis, nor were updated information provided by the relevant authorities in Turkey, the main data presented in this report were gathered from personal interviews.
